Insiders' LoungeGather, meet and discover.
A collaboration with insideout the furniture store is converted to become an intimate lounge, it brings some of Newcastle’s hidden talents in the creative and food scenes to a community who love to learn of others’ experiences and share a meal together. Afterwards, the Insideout courtyard becomes a dining room. In June, a delicious Moroccan curry created by local food blogger For My Senses was served with wines from Gundog Estate. This months guests discussed the therapeutic nature of art and how the benefits are being recognised in society as a way of delving behind the scenes of our thinking. The talks are a great starting point for a conversation. Sharing food and wine encourages people relax into the evening and enjoy the company of friends and strangers. Whether it’s the food, the wine or the inspiring locals that entice you to come, you’ll go home having met someone new and experienced a furniture store in a way you hadn’t thought of before. As we enjoy the outdoor courtyard for supper, the Insiders' Lounge is waiting for the weather to warm up again. To be the first to hear about our next event sign up to our mailing list.

Nic Poelaert pops up in Newcastle
25 July, 2015
A collaboration of some of our favourite partners treated Hunter foodies to a rustic French dinner under the chandeliers and soaring ceilings of the spectacular St Phillip's church at 48 Watt Street, Newcastle. Brought to life by the Wedding Designer with lighting, floristry and styling it was a magical collective dining experience. A cheese feast preceded dinner with a table laden with spectacular cheese styles from the Cheese Mongrel and wafer thin sourdough from Baked Uprising. Guest chef Nic Poelaert's menu featured a three course communal-style seated dinner that celebrated Australia’s finest beef all prepared in the El Poco Loco food truck parked in the driveway. An edible forest floor concept dessert topped off the culinary journey. Beverages by Vinden Estate and the Inner City Winemakers with The Retro Kombi Coffee providing a post-dinner caffeine fix. The evening was an exclusive glimpse into Chef Poelaert's signature style in his debut in Newcastle. If you want to be in the know about our next event, sign up to the mailing list. |
