Let's face it, most of us hang out for Friday, but, if you are just visiting Newcastle for a short time and can't wait until our scheduled Friday tours we can offer you the West End Frontier tour in fast forward. We can't guarantee the full VIP treatment from cafe and shop owners, but you'll still discover a part of Newcastle that's off the beaten track and taste some treats that the local's want to keep a secret. Phone 0438 208 297 or email us to enquire about availability.
Our moveable feasts don't allow your guests to get stuck talking over the table to one person or to wander aimlessly at a cocktail event. At your next corporate dinner, Christmas party or business lunch sit down to a fabulous meal where the scenery and your dining partners change with each course. With a stroll in between each restaurant, you'll enjoy the city's street scape, catch a new conversation and stretch your legs before you indulge again in your next course. Why be satisfied with just one restaurant when you can enjoy the best of many. Choose from our tried and tested moveable feasts or call about having one created just for you.
Thanks Penny for the great write up in the Newcastle Herald. All jokes aside, I wouldn't be able to do this without the fabulous support of my husband!!
Give your Mum a taste of our local cafe's offerings on a Newcastle food tour. Gift vouchers are available for our East Feast Excursion and the West End Frontier or a $100 voucher she could use for any event. Buy one for your Mum and a second for her friend. Maybe she'll choose to take you! We'll send you a hand made voucher to give her on the day.
I have been offered an awesome venue in Newcastle's west end. I see a casual meal on industrial furniture with festoon lighting emerging there.
The Casa de Loco will be preparing a feast featuring food from a region in rural Mexico. Their chef is out to impress us with dishes that are fresh, vibrant and challenge the common perception of Mexican food. With a live Mariachi band, cocktails and mescal tasting it only needs you to make this awesome space come to life. More information
Very excited to be in the Good Food section of the Newcastle Herald this week. So many other awesome people appearing here, but apparently my tours are foodi news worthy of a story! Thanks Kate.
As this city rises from the ashes of its past it seems to have fostered a culture of reinvention among its residents. There is a sense of entrepreneurism where people can launch a hidden talent or long term desire into a business that fulfils a dream and balances lifestyle and income in a new way. Our food is local, our chefs are hatted, our coffee is spiralling to new heights of flavour, our fashion is crafted and our art is prolific. Its an energy that inspires me and I want to share that with you through Epicurean Excursions. I'm starting in the east end, but over time I hope to highlight not just the city centre, but all that is happening in the nearby suburbs as well. More info.
Journey in the tradition of aristocrats and landed gentry on The Grand Tour. Expand your thinking and discover the renaissance of Newcastle’s culture. Three of the city's best restaurants will impress Grand Tourists with a course in each and an evening stroll in between.

A foot journey of film and food where you won’t sit still for long.
Thursday 7 August, 2014
Towers Cinema are previewing Steven Spielbergs’s The 100 Foot Journey. A film about two restaurants clashing heads and cultures in a quaint village in the French countryside. The film will have our mouths watering and chattering as we embark on our own 100 (thousand) foot food journey around a group of restaurants and cafe's almost within shouting distance of each other. More information and tickets.
The latest food craze to hit the streets popped up at The Fresh Ingredient. The music was easy and the fires burning to warm us on a June evening. With the humour of your favourite uncle, Ian (Herbie) from Herbies Spices spoke with simple instruction to convert his wealth of spice knowledge into everyday terms. Then came the wrap! Hand cooked by guests, starting with the fresh tortilla on the barbecue. Anything goes! Choose your meat, spice it up, cook it up and roam the fruit and veg displays for fillings topped with Byron Bay Chilli sauces. Find a spot by the fire to savour the flavour, wash it down with a Tempranillo or a Dos Equis and then go back for more. Photos
