FOOD TOURS

Keep safe and carry on

It's time to learn to love the slow lane. We are experiencing something that will become a significant historic event and I am settling into the solitude. I'm loving the bonding of community and it is heartwarming to see the ideas people have to engage with their neighbourhoods. I hope we all find time to ponder our place and purpose in the world and emerge on the other side more relaxed, more sustainable and more aware of the joy of humanity. See you on the other side.

Grab your broomstick, robes and wands for a mid-year feast at Hog Watts! Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall hosted a feast in the great hall at 48 Watt Street. The Wedding Designer's styling brought the story to life and the magic on people's faces brought tears to my eyes.

Tim Montgomery from Rascal and Chris Thornton from Restaurant Mason were in four home kitchens for the 4th annual Hamilton Long Lunch yesterday. So grateful that chefs like these will come to a community event and cook us such incredible food. This is the fourth year of this event. If you'd like to know how to long lunch in your community, please get in touch.

I've wanted to do an event in the Circus Avalon tent since I started doing pop ups in 2012. When asked to do a fundraiser for the PCYC, the tent immediately came to mind. The night was better than even I expected. The aerials were breath taking and the Hot Potato band had a conga line going before we'd even eaten dinner.

I love a food truck collective, but having to choose which one I'm going to have is so difficult. You don't have to choose at FEASTival. You can try them all for the same price. You can graze all night at the seven food stalls, enjoy comedy straight from the Sydney Comedy Festival, live local musicians supporting the fabulous Sarah McLeod to end the evening.

In our family Father's Day is not just about gift giving its about spending the day together doing something everyone enjoys. I loved the creative ideas suggested by the Newcastle Herald last week to make some memories on Father's Day. Scavenger hunts, mini golf and hiking among them! But if you still need a gift we have gift vouchers available. Easy!
